Avast Antivirus Review
avast antivirus is among the top security suites on the market. It’s strong on mobile and desktop security, scans malware and has additional features like an anti-theft feature and software updater. It also comes with sandbox technology, which checks unknown files in an isolated location prior to using them on your mobile or computer to guard against infection.
Avast’s interface is clean and simple. Its central dashboard displays all the tools that the suite has to offer and includes clear icons for each. The menu bar, settings and new issues are all clearly marked. Avast’s complete scan has minimal impact on performance of your system. It also scores high in tests of its protection against various types of malware, including ransomware.
In the latter part of 2019 and in the early 2020s, Avast made headlines for selling and collecting user data through a feature called Jumpshot. Thankfully, Avast has ended this practice. It states that it no longer collects any user information for purposes of marketing.
Avast offers a variety of subscription plans for both users and companies. The basic home plan covers up to 5 devices for free, while its premium options include more device coverage and additional features such as a password manager and an ad blocker. Avast’s business plans offer more flexibility and security features like an encryptor for internet traffic, a USB port monitor to stop the use of unauthorised removable storage, and the virtual private network for secure browsing.
